10. Louis van Gaal’s counter attacking strategy sinks Liverpool

Recently, United hosted fierce rivals Liverpool in one of the most awaited games this season. The home team were in good form and certainly had the upper-hand hand playing at home. Liverpool created many chances and enjoyed more possession of the ball, but it was United who took the opportunity and hit them on the break. Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young set up two quick counter attacks which were converted by Rooney and Mata. Liverpool couldn’t cope with these attacks down the flanks and they had no reply to United’s three goals.
