13. Senegal at FIFA World Cup 2002.

With the squad unknown to the football glamour in their first FIFA World Cup campaign, Senegal did incredibly well to reach quarter finals of the 2002 World Cup. Everyone expected them to finish at the bottom of the group, yet the African nation made it through the next 2 rounds. Their win over France is considered to be one of the biggest upsets in the World Cup history where they managed to beat a team which had players like Zidane and David Trezeguet and were certainly the favorites to win the tournament. They knocked Sweden out in the Round of 16 but lost to Turkey in the quarters.
