10. Debut against Blackburn Rovers
Steven Gerrard had joined the Liverpool Academy at the age of nine. After training hard and developing his game, Gerrard was offered his first professional contract in 1997. Then came the big moment. Gerrard came on as a substitute for Vegard Heggem for the last few minutes of the Premier League game against Blackburn Rovers on 29th November 1998.
At that time, not many must have imagined that this 18-year-old boy would go on to become one of the greatest players for the Kop and England. He earned his place in the team because of his hard work and dedication he showed on the field.
